Newsletter
Please share and spread the life house mission.
Pray about what you can do to help us achieve our goal of raising $50,000 during our Unity for Life virtual event, which will take place throughout the day on May 18 and 19!
Boost Your Impact
You can have the greatest impact by engaging in “peer-to-peer fundraising.” To set up a peer-to-peer fundraiser, access our online platform to create your fundraising page, tell the people in your networks about how you are personally connected to Lifehouse, and share your fundraising page with them. Remember that you are not asking your friends for money: You are giving them the opportunity to live out their faith by being the hands and feet of Christ. We’re using an online platform called GiveGab to make donating and setting up fundraising pages as simple as possible. If you have ever participated in Give for Good Louisville through the Community Foundation of Louisville, our GiveGab page for Unity for Life will look very familiar!
Sponsorship Opportunities
You can find information about sponsorship opportunities on our website. Sponsorships come with different levels of visibility in our marketing materials.
Toolkit
You can find a registration page on our website. Our supporters and anyone who registers on our website will receive a toolkit with information about all the ways to participate in Unity for Life.
Providing Abundant Life
By supporting Lifehouse, you are offering moms and babies abundant life now, and introducing them to Jesus Christ. Thank you in advance for your generous support!

By Dolli Neikirk, Executive Director | dneikirk@lifehouselouisville.org
In 2011, a group of volunteers and Lifehouse staff came together to plan the first ever Unity for Life event. Modeling it off many typical nonprofit fundraiser galas, the event was a dinner with a keynote speaker, a testimony from a resident, and a message from the Executive Director. The event became an annual fundraiser with a variety of celebrity speakers, community faith leaders, and even a couple of plays depicting life at Lifehouse.
When I joined Lifehouse in 2019, the board leadership had decided to take a year off from having a Unity for Life event so the focus could be on transitioning between Executive Directors. In 2020, we looked to a new direction for Unity for Life in the form of a spring breakfast. What? You say you missed it? Well that is because it never happened thanks to the pandemic. Instead, a letter was sent to our donors, with a wonderful response. In 2021, with the pandemic still a concern, we once again sent a letter in the spring, and again our donors faithfully responded.
Shifting to a Virtual Event
During the pandemic, many nonprofits shifted to virtual events. Admittedly, this made me nervous. I know just enough about technology to be dangerous. After talking with some other organizations who successfully shifted to a virtual type of event, we decided to take a leap of faith in 2022. On May 18 and 19, 2022, we will launch our first Unity for Life virtual event.
How Will a Virtual Event Work?
You may remember telethons back in the day. Some would run for a day, some a full weekend. There would be stories from supporters, stories of success, live reports from a studio, and throughout, donors could call in and donate. The Unity for Life virtual event will be like a telethon, but online. It will feature stories from supporters and others impacted by Lifehouse. There will be a heartwarming story from a former resident, and throughout the event, instead of calling in to donate, donors will click an online link: givegab.com/campaigns/unityforlife.
The stories, the live reports and donations will all be coordinated online through our social media, website, and our donation platform, GiveGab. If you have participated in the Community Foundation of Louisville’s “Give for Good Louisville,” GiveGab is the same platform used to receive donations for the hundreds of nonprofit participants. It is safe, secure, and your information is not shared outside of Lifehouse.
How Can You be a Part of the Unity for Life Virtual Event?
A toolkit is being sent to our supporters with instructions on how to give, how to set up your own fundraiser, and how to encourage those in your circle to support Lifehouse. The best way is to set up a peer-to-peer fundraiser. It is just like inviting your friends to fill a table at a fundraising dinner, without the table or the dinner.
Using the toolkit, you can help Lifehouse reach our goal of $50,000 for Unity for Life. Give us a call at 502-897-1655 or send us an email at lifehouse@lifehouselouisville.org, and we will make sure you receive a toolkit. Set up your fundraisers, reach out to your peers, and tune in online May 18 & 19 to learn how Lifehouse is impacting moms and babies. (Hint: Check us out on May 17 and 20 too.).
Interested in Being a Sponsor?
We are also looking for sponsors. If you or your company would like to sponsor Unity for Life, contact us for details. We are encouraging business sponsors to challenge their employees to help match their sponsorship through individual donations to Lifehouse.
We consider you our partner in saving and transforming the lives of moms and babies at Lifehouse. We welcomed Baby #85 at the end of January, Baby #86 in March, and Baby #87 in April. Your help is needed to ensure these precious lives continue to have a safe home and the support they need.
“A gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of the great.” Proverbs 18:16
We are pleased to welcome our new Case Manager, Alle Cox, to the Lifehouse team. Alle attended Murray State University, where she received her Bachelor’s degree with a major in Nonprofit Management and a minor in Social Work. Alle has been privileged to enjoy a career path in the social service sector, assisting the minority population and those who are most vulnerable to injustices. She worked for Youth Villages, Rescare – Community Youth Services, and the Center for Women and Families prior to her current position here at Lifehouse. “I chose Lifehouse because I truly felt I could be authentic in ministry, serving women and families,” Alle said. “I want to share the light of Christ with our residents. Real life transformation begins when we know who we are in Christ.” Alle is truly passionate about spending quality time with her family and her Christ family, building relationships, and helping one another grow spiritually. In this season, the prayer of protection in Psalm 91 is her resting place.

House Happenings
#85 and #86 Have Arrived!!
Join us in welcoming Lifehouse Baby #85, born in the end of January, and Baby #86, born in March. No words can express how great these blessings are! We know God will do great things in their lives!
We Love Our New Dining Room and Living Room!
We thank the Jamie Parsley Foundation and ARGI Financial Group for their generous grants for new living room furniture. Also, a very generous donor, Terry Strange, built a dining room table for us that can expand to serve up to 12 residents. He also built and installed shelves for our living room! We are thankful for his support of Lifehouse!
New House Mom
Cathy Badgett joined the Lifehouse family in November 2021. She has been married to her husband Jamie for 30 years, has three grown children, and three grandchildren. After retiring from teaching (JCPS) in 2020, she began volunteering at Little Way Pregnancy Resource Center. During that time, she discovered that her heart was very tender toward single moms and women facing unplanned pregnancies. While at Little Way one afternoon, she learned about Lifehouse Maternity Home, which led to a tour of the facility. She filled out a volunteer application that day, not realizing that God had bigger plans, and was paving the way for her assignment as House Mom!
House Moms Needed!
We have openings for more House Moms to join our team! The House Moms of Lifehouse are Christian ladies who have a heart for nurturing, encouraging, mentoring, organizing, teaching, praying and loving on babies and moms. House Moms typically work at Lifehouse for a 24-hour shift, serving as a maternal figure for our residents of all ages. House Moms listen, help solve problems, lead “family-style” discussions, and pray with our residents. If interested in finding out more about becoming a House Mom, please contact our Program & Operations Director, Katie Rankin, at 502-897-1655, or email krankin@lifehouselouisville.org.
