Trusting the Call
The old adage is the older you get, the faster time flies. In early March, I will celebrate seven years with Lifehouse. It is hard to believe it has been seven years. I remember my second day, listening to the story of a prospective participant, and how I was sure God made a mistake in choosing me for this work. I had experience in non-profit work, but not directly with individuals in crisis. I had no clue in what I was doing, but I did know that God led me to Lifehouse, and I just needed to trust that He would give me the tools and knowledge needed to impact those we serve.
Thanks to webinars, conferences, and lots of reading, I began to learn about trauma-informed care, mental illness, addiction recovery, poverty cycles, emotional intelligence, and more. “They” (whoever “they” are) say if you read 10 books on a subject you are considered an expert. I don’t consider myself an expert on any of those subjects, but I feel I have a half-way decent working knowledge on how we can impact the lives of moms and children in crisis.
Our vision at Lifehouse is to see every mother and child come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and step confidently into lives filled with sustainable stability and hope. Because of you, we continue to see the futures of families changed, one life at a time, every year. We couldn’t do what we do without your prayers, your time, and your support.
Join us in praying this year for God’s favor for Lifehouse; for lives to be transformed, women to thrive, and children to feel safe and loved. Thank you for being a part of Lifehouse. May God bless you and keep you; may His face shine upon you and bring you peace.
