 “My worst day at Lifehouse
was a thousand times
better than any day I had
when I was high. In my
heart, I know Lifehouse
saved my life and the life of
my daughter.”

About Lifehouse Maternity Home

Our mission: to meet the spiritual, emotional, and intellectual needs of pregnant and parenting women and their children – both born and unborn – in a Christ-centered, home environment.

Our goal: To help end the cycle of abuse, neglect, generational poverty, and social services dependency of pregnant and parenting women.

Every woman and child deserve a supportive environment and loving hand up

At Lifehouse Maternity Home in Louisville, KY, we believe that every woman deserves a safe, loving, and supportive environment as she prepares to welcome new life into the world. Rooted in Christian principles, our program offers more than just shelter– it provides hope, healing, and a Lifepath to a brighter future.

Serving the Louisville region and beyond

We open our doors to pregnant women from the Louisville region and from across the United States, many of whom have faced unimaginable hardships. Some have struggled with addiction, homelessness, incarceration, abuse, neglect, and mental health challenges. Others have survived human trafficking, eating disorders, or medical conditions that put both their lives and their babies at risk. Because of these challenges, every mother who comes to Lifehouse is considered to have a high-risk pregnancy. Yet, through faith, compassion, and proven support practices, we help save and transform lives.

Our compassion and care does not end when the baby is born.
In fact, the mission is just beginning.

Every woman who comes to Lifehouse has a unique story – many times it’s filled with hardship. All Lifehouse participants take part in Lifepath, a research-proven, individualized, faith-based program that helps women gain the skills they need to live productive, independent lives.

Futures built upon solid ground

Lifepath is a 3 stage, multi-faceted program that helps assure the participants of Lifehouse have a solid foundation that allows them to make healthy decisions even in times of difficulty. Through the careful supervision of a case manager, each participant receives the support she needs on her journey toward sustainable stability. Women may stay at Lifehouse with their child and participate in the Lifepath program for up to four years as they progress through each stage.

  • Stage 1: Preparing and planning for baby – this involves a safe and private bedroom to stay while focusing on her changing nutritional needs, life skills training, and assuring that she receives the appropriate prenatal care.
  • Stage 2: Preparing for the Future – this involves individualized case management programs, goal-setting, and one-on-one coaching.
  • Stage 3: Transition and Aftercare – On-site transitional living and educational/career guidance for up to 4 years.

Through Lifepath, participants improve their mental and physical health, learn how to parent, and discover how the love of
Jesus Christ is integral to helping them let go of guilt, blame, and inner turmoil from past trauma

Together, we are changing lives—one mother, one baby, and one future at a time.
