Trusting and Acting Boldly
If the past two years have taught us anything, it is definitely not to take anything for granted. That is why we focused on being bold this year: boldly trusting God to protect not only the precious lives of moms and babies, but also the operations of Lifehouse Maternity Home, both physically and financially. We prayed that God’s people would act boldly, and continue to support our work to provide help, healing, hope, and a home for moms and babies.
Former Lifehouse Maternity Home resident Nikima took a bold step coming to us when she was just 15 and pregnant. She made a bold decision recognizing she was not ready to be a parent, and recognizing both she and her unborn baby deserved more. Nikima made a bold, selfless, and loving decision for adoption. David and Erin boldly trusted that God would bless them with a family. Nikima finished high school, is now a student at U of L, and recently became engaged. Because of one 15-year-old’s bold decision for life and love, God boldly answered many prayers. God hears your prayers!
In the last few months:
• We have two residents who were able to secure much needed transportation.
• One of our residents obtained a full-time job with great benefits and soon will be moving to her own apartment after almost four years at Lifehouse.
• Another resident received a promotion at work to a management position. She will now have a good salary and benefits.
• Another resident is making plans to return to college in hopes of becoming a paralegal.
The encouragement each resident receives to set and reach goals in collaboration with our Case Manager, the guidance and faith development from our Program and Operations Director, and the love and care from our House Moms help residents keep moving forward and achieving their dreams. Whether you gave to, or prayed for, Lifehouse Maternity Home this year, we thank you! The work we do is vital to saving the lives of moms and babies.
Whether a young woman decides to parent, or makes a selfless decision to place her baby for adoption, Lifehouse equips her with all she needs to succeed – food, clothing, a safe home, life skills training, job readiness, goal setting, access to counseling, and faith development just to name a few. This only happens with your gift to Lifehouse Maternity Home. Please prayerfully consider if you are able to increase your gift this year. Lifehouse continues to steward your gifts in a conservative, prayerful manner.
